Dean of the School of Environmental Studies in University of Waterloo visited the SRES
In October 12rd, Professor Jean Andrey, dean of Environmental Studies School in University of Waterloo, and Professor Richard Kelly, head of department of Geography and Environmental Management, as well as professor Mao, who is the international course coordinator in University of Waterloo, visited the School of Resource and Environmental Sciences. Professor Du Qingyun, dean of SRES, Professor Wang Dihua, vice dean of SRES and professor Renfu showed a worm welcome to their visiting and attended the meeting.
During the visiting, on behalf of the both universities, they renewed the 2+2 Agreement refers to two majors, including Surveying and Mapping Engineering and Geography and Environmental Management, to be indefinitely. The project had executing about ten years and more than ten sophomores from Wuhan University had gone to University of Waterloo to finish their study of next two years. Then, after accomplished their study, they can get both diplomas of Wuhan University and University of Waterloo. This project has become one of the most successful project in Wuhan University because of the student’s excellent performance. Moreover, the two parties discussed many aspects including 1+2 joint training master project, international master joint training course, and cooperative science research, which can make the cooperation much deeper and extensive.
