Professors in the School attended the second conference of (Erasmus+)-“GeoServices-4-Sustainability”
In June 19-24, 2016, the second conference of EU education program GeoServices-4-Sustainability (GeoS4S) held in Palacky University of Olomouc, and three professors, respectively Du Qingyun, Li Lin, and Cai Zhongliang, on behalf of the School of Resource and Environmental Science, attended into the conference. The conference aimed at discussion of course syllabus and content between the member states. Three professors from the School did reports of teaching syllabus and content which related to “GIS and intelligent transportation system” as well as “Smart City”. At last, as a result of discussion, the syllabus and content of twenty courses had been made and also decided the specific task and detail. After the meeting, they visited the Geographic Information Science Department of Palacky University of Olomouc with delegates guided by professor Vit Vozenilek to learn their latest researches including unmanned plane, 3D printing, Eye movement tracking, and Three-dimensional visualization of geographic information etc.
GeoServices-4-Sustainability program is an international educational program which hosted by University of Salzburg, Austria and also including Palacky University Olomouc, Eberwalde University of Sustainable Development, Free University of Amsterdam, Wuhan University, Nanjing Normal University, XinJiang Institute of Ecology and Chinese Academy of Sciences, Asian Institute of Technology, Chiang Mai University, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi etc.
The project will continue 3years, with the objective to cultivate the international professionals who have specialized knowledge and technological ability to adapt the fast-changing job market. The project devote to geospatial data, technology, use and adopt Add-on and Plug-in to exploit 20 curriculum modules independent respectively that offer to the postgraduate. Students can choice the courses flexibly by their own need or the market requirement.
